Meet Dr. Sukhpreet Kahlon

Dr. Sukhpreet Kahlon, O.D., is a skilled optometrist who was born in New York and raised in central New Jersey. She embarked on her journey in the field of optometry after graduating from Rutgers University – New Brunswick with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a minor in psychology.

Dr. Kahlon’s Experience

Dr. Kahlon’s passion for optometry was ignited when she met a visually impaired student on campus during her undergraduate years at Rutgers University. Inspired by this encounter, she joined the pre-optometry club, where she actively participated in providing vision screenings to her community. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry.

Her clinical training encompasses a diverse range of areas within the field, including treatment and management of ocular diseases, surgical co-management, specialty contact lenses and scleral lenses, myopia management, and low vision, which has equipped her with the knowledge and skills needed to provide comprehensive eye care to her patients. Prior to attending SUNY, Dr. Kahlon also worked as an optometric technician, further immersing herself in the world of optometry. Her training and hands-on experience has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the intricacies of the field and solidified her commitment to serving her patients with the highest level of care.

Dr. Kahlon is deeply committed to her patients’ well-being and strives to make a positive impact on their lives. Her multifaceted background in biological sciences and psychology, coupled with her optometric expertise, enables her to approach eye care with a holistic perspective, taking into consideration not only the ocular aspects of their health but also the psychological and physiological aspects of her patients’ well-being. When she’s not caring for her patients, she enjoys hiking, traveling, Pilates, attending concerts, and spending time with her family and friends.
