Dr. Ansel’s Mission to Change Lives Through Sight

At Somerset Eye Care, we talk a lot about helping people see better. But for Dr. Ansel, that mission doesn’t stop at our office doors.

Every year, he joins a team of volunteer eye-care professionals to bring essential vision services to underserved communities abroad. These trips are intense, fast-moving, and deeply needed. On last year’s four-day mission alone, the team provided eye exams, glasses, and basic eye-health support to more than 4,000 people—many of whom had never received eye care in their lives.

And this year, they’re aiming even higher.

Why This Work Matters

In many parts of the world, untreated vision problems limit people’s ability to work, learn, and care for their families. A simple pair of glasses can change someone’s life almost instantly. Clear vision means kids can succeed in school, adults can perform their jobs safely, and elders can maintain independence.

Dr. Ansel sees this impact up close. It’s why he continues to give his time, skills, and heart to these trips. His compassion reflects the values we strive to live out every day here at Somerset Eye Care.
